The undulations of the roof evince the internal ceiling height variations, which are a direct result of the functional purpose of the rooms themselves.
The building has three levels: a basement level containing the »invisible« technical equipment; the ground level which is the main visitor area and comprises all the sport and recreational pools and adjoining changing rooms; and the upper level, where the health and fitness area is situated.

The urban-planning theme central to this conceptual design is renewal of the city centre with structures that blend in with their surroundings. The prerequisite for accomplishing this venture is a contained public space truly deserving of the name. Simple forms borrowed from nature, like the clamshell and the wave, which we have all been familiar with since childhood, are transformed using astute engineering expertise into a »megaform«, a sport and recreational dome.
The result is a straightforward functional layout with an almost playful envelope that speaks to our subconscious and whose internal and external aesthetics exude comfort.
