First prize for »6-Seen-Wedau«! We are ecstatic to have come out on top in the competition!

With »6-Seen-Wedau«, one of the largest urban development projects is taking shape in the southern part of Duisburg, directly at the Six-Lake Plateau. On the 60-hectare site of the former shunting yard and repair shop, a new urban district is being created, featuring around 3,000 residential units and numerous infrastructural facilities.

The current competition focused on Plot 10, the centerpiece of the development area. Here, the »Architecture Mile« will serve as a model project for high-quality and climate-adapted living.

The six lakes were created through years of gravel extraction. Inspired by this, we designed six buildings in the shape of pebbles. These are not only inspiring for distinctive architecture but also spatially shaping. This creates urban references and pathways.

The goal of the project is to create architecture that offers high residential quality and inspiring design while fulfilling its role at this location by bringing the entire district together through its open and inviting public spaces.
