Our plan was to give the church a modern, lighter appearance. To this end, we reduced the architecture of the church interior to a minimalistic layout and emphasised the central axis of the nave. The wall facing the belfry was opened to let natural light in; this has enlivened the central axis, which faces the altar. The organ is now located within this light axis.
Using light materials and a glass back panel, we have designed a near-translucent instrument that matches the new atmosphere of the room and aesthetically blends into the architecture. Backlit, textile-covered frames place further emphasis on the walls of the transept and create a soft, diffuse light. The altar has been moved further into the church room, and the number of pews inside the transept has been reduced.
