Community Centre Ramacher’s Mill

The first document mentioning this old mill stems from 1564; the building continued to be used as a grain and oil mill until 1969. The milling room still contains all the equipment of the trade. The original structures (the mill and some parts of the residence) were erected in 1726. Due to its historic significance, this part of the building has been listed since 1985.

Because of its significance as a centrally located town landmark, we want to upgrade Ramacher’s Mill, transforming it into an open and inviting meeting place that adds vibrancy to community life. Local clubs and organisations will inhabit the rooms on the top floor, whereas the ground floor will contain space for commercial use. The plan for the ground level also includes a small bistro with catering service and a multipurpose hall.

Urkundlich wurde die Ramachers Mühle bereits 1564 erwähnt und diente noch bis 1969 als Korn- und Ölmühle. Die komplette Ausstattung ist im Mahlraum noch heute vorhanden. Die ursprünglichen Gebäudeteile Mühle und Teile des Wohnhauses stammen aus dem Jahre 1726. Dieser Gebäudeteil steht aufgrund seiner historischen Bedeutung seit 1985 unter Denkmalschutz.
Aufgrund seiner stadtbildprägenden und zentralen Lage sollte die Ramachers Mühle zu einem offenen Haus, einer Begegnungsstätte, ausgebaut werden, um zu einer weiteren Belebung der Stadt beizutragen. Die Räume im Obergeschoss werden von ortsansässigen Vereinen bzw. Organisationen genutzt. Im Erdgeschoss der Ramachers Mühle werden Flächen zur gewerblichen Nutzung angeboten. Hier wurden ein kleines Bistro mit Außengastronomie sowie ein multifunktionaler Veranstaltungsraum angelegt.
